Chair and Director Opportunities – Community Connections

Community Connections – Te Hāpori Āwhina Tāngata is a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to supporting people with disabilities to live the life they choose, connected to their communities and supported to thrive. Guided by a strong commitment to inclusion, dignity and belonging, Community Connections works alongside individuals, whānau and communities to create opportunities for meaningful participation and independence.

Community Connections is now seeking to strengthen its governance capability through the appointment of a Board Chair and potentially one additional Director. These appointments form part of a structured and rigorous board renewal process designed to ensure the board has the collective capability required to govern effectively and support the organisation’s purpose and strategic direction.

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring experience and insight in finance, governance, health or disability, alongside strong cultural capability and an appreciation for the value of community-led approaches.

The incoming Chair will provide strategic leadership to the board and foster a collaborative, high-trust governance environment, while the Director role will contribute to strengthening the board’s overall capability, particularly in financial oversight.

These are rewarding governance opportunities for individuals who are motivated by purpose and who want to contribute their skills to an organisation making a tangible difference in the lives of people and communities across Aotearoa.

If you are passionate about strengthening communities and enabling people to live connected and fulfilling lives, we welcome your interest in helping guide the future of Community Connections.
