As part of the region’s key infrastructure Hawkes Bay Airport is a proud gateway asset serving the Hawkes Bay community, with a vision to be New Zealand's most vibrant and successful regional airport welcoming 1 million passengers by 2030.
Governance sits with the Board of Directors of Hawke’s Bay Airport Limited (HBAL), which is responsible for the strategic and overall direction of the organisation. Directors are appointed by the company’s shareholders: Napier City Council (26%), Hastings District Council (24%) and the Crown (50%).
This is a very exciting time to join the board as a Future Director with a number of strategic projects underway. Over the coming 12-18 months, the board is focused maximising the opportunities presented through the redevelopment of the airport terminal, diversifying HBAL’s revenue streams; development of a commercial property precinct; and the potential construction of a solar farm on HBAL land.
Board meetings are held monthly (ten meetings per year). Approximately one day per meeting cycle will be required for reading board papers and preparation. The Future Director will also observe on the Audit & Risk Committee
The position is not remunerated, however HBAL will contribute to professional development eg the IoD’s Company Directors’ Course, and cover expenses relating to attending meetings.
This is an 18 month term with a commencement date of 1 July 2021.
