Please note that if you are applying for a Future Director vacancy that we are advertising for a specific board, you must submit your application via that specific role advertisement. This application is for the generic Future Directors programme only. 

To register your interest in Future Directors: 

Click the Apply Now button at the bottom of this page and complete the Personal Details and Organisation Questionnaire tabs of the registration form. You will need to upload your resume to register so have this on hand.  You don't need to upload a cover letter when registering for Future Directors. 

Please be thorough with completing the organisation questionnaire as we use this to search a host board's specific criteria and promote Future Director opportunities to those who match the host board's requirements. 

Learning about and applying for specific Future Director vacancies: 

As Future Director opportunities arise, we will contact you directly to let you know about them. If your skills, experience and background are a match for the host board's requirements for their Future Director vacancy, please submit your expression of interest and include your cover letter at that time. 

Sometimes Future Director host boards will engage a search agency, or the IoD's Director Search service to undertake the search on their behalf. In these cases, your profile and CV may be submitted directly to the host board and we will let you know if you have been shortlisted for an interview. 

Keeping up to date on relevant and topical governance matters:

If you are not a member of the IoD by registering for the Future Directors programme, you agree to receive our bi-monthly governance newsletter keeping you up to date and informed on relevant and topic issues and content for directors and the governance community. You can opt out of these newsletters at any time.

Updating your resume: 

You may update your governance CV when you submit an expression of interest for a specific Future Directors vacancy. If you wish to update your resume prior to this, please send it to futuredirectors@iod.org.nz
