Learning Designer

Our organisation is changing the way we deliver our education. We are working on a blended learning delivery that meets the needs of our membership and clients.

The Institute of Directors contributes to a strong future for governance and business in Aotearoa through education programmes that positively influence the governance of organisations. Our programmes include a range of public courses including our flagship 5-day Company Directors Course, Advanced Directors Course, on-demand webinars and one-day governance essentials courses. We also provide in-house training programmes. 

We are looking forward to welcoming a talented, experienced and enthusiastic learning designer to our small governance development team. 

About you 

You are an experienced and innovative learning practitioner who has been involved in the transformation of learning design and delivery. You enjoy designing high quality, insights-driven learning solutions that make a difference. You can understand, curate and translate complex ideas to ensure learning participants understand the key themes, principles and frameworks and desired learning outcomes take place. 

You are consultative, collaborative, creative, practical and organised and can adapt and apply your own ideas, skills and knowledge within our learning design framework. You are an excellent communicator, who keeps people on-track and informed, and works effectively with a diverse range of contributors including SMEs, facilitators, project teams and contributors, who are working at the highest levels of the New Zealand economy. 

You are equally as comfortable leading needs analysis or running brainstorming/ideation workshops or storyboarding as as you are writing concise and detailed facilitator guides, or visually engaging and participant workbooks. 

The skills and experience you bring 

• 3- 5 years’ experience in and designing insights-driven blended learning 
• Experience designing learning and transforming learning design and delivery
• Great levels of technical expertise – particularly with LMS
• Excellent writing skills to communicate complex concepts simply, concisely and clearly
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and consultatively with all stakeholders
• The highest design standards and levels of professionalism
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in instructional and learning design
