Trust Horizon Future Director

  This is an outstanding opportunity to join the board of Trust Horizon as a Future Director.

Trust Horizon is a local Charitable Trust, representing Whakatāne, Ōpōtiki, Kawerau, and Kaingaroa Village communities. Creating transformational change in the community through grant making (totalling over $50M since inception) and investing (with $200M in investments). The Trustees seek to bring pride and prosperity to the region through their oversight of the Trust.

They are seeking a Future Director to join their board for a 12-month term commencing in March 2025.

The successful Future Director will ideally have a mix of the following key attributes: 

• be motivated to learn about governance from a talented and experienced board of directors. 
• bring the youth perspective and view to board discussions
• provide diversity of thought to discussions
• have an interest or background in investment, and/or finance.
• have an interest or background in community development and/or      philanthropy
• be connected to and passionate about the Eastern Bay of Plenty      community and its prosperity
• be eager to drive transformational change in the community through      good investment and governance

It is required that the successful candidate resides in Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Board meetings:

Board meetings are held every month except January, and you will be required to attend meetings in person whenever possible. Up to 2 days per meeting cycle will be required for reading board papers and preparation.

Remuneration and/or expenses covered:

This role is remunerated.
